COME DINE WITH ME - How To Design Your Chic Dining Space

Are you looking for inspiration how to create a beautiful, chic dining room where your family and friends can gather together? You are here in the right place. Here are my tips and tricks for putting together a very chic and functional dining space.

Whether you are hosting a dinner party or it's for a normal weekday supper, a dining space should always bring you joy to any mealtime occasion.

In a open-plan living spaces, like in this apartment, a rug is a great way to visually create different zones and softly delineate dining area. This patterned rug under the dining table ties together the colour palette and brings another layer of texture and warmth to the dining area. By using a rug to echo the colours in the nearby artwork on the wall, furniture and other finishes in the rest of the space, you can ensure cohesion in the most chic, elegant way.

In this dining space, the black and white artwork (framed Fornasetti wallpaper) anchors the area and sets the tone.

When considering the layout for your dining space, the most important key components are the size, shape and style of your dining table and of the dining chairs going with it. For this dining space, I went for round, tulip marble table, because organic shapes can bring balance and better flow to a room dominated by angles. I used playful, sculptural black & white chairs from Fabio Novembre, because I like introducing talking points, that memorable visual moments that might spark a conversation.

Dedicated zones in your home maximize function and ensure a space that's perfectly tailored to your needs. To make sure it's the ideal setup for dinner parties, as well as for everyday use and all the ingredients for cocktails and coffee refill are within reach, other key elements like a bar cart and a coffee station are essential serving furniture pieces in this space.

Position a well stocked coffee and tea station where you, house members and your guests can locate it in the mornings, ideally close to the breakfast table. Open shelving is reserved here, for my beautiful Hermes mug collection.

A beautiful sculptural pendant light and a gorgeous flower arrangement are very essential elements that make this dining space feel more put together and inviting.
